Tuesdays with Morrie
Tuesdays with Morrie one of the best gifts for Christmas that I ever got.
I’m not a big fiction reader either! This book is based on true story by Mitch Albom and his beloved uni professor Morrie.
Morrie was diagnosed with ALS. This leads to Mitch & Morrie reconnecting.
Mitch decides see Morrie every Tuesday where they discuss life & death. That’s what the book is all about.
It’s honestly an amazing read. One that you could easily get through in a day!!
The Alchemist
Another read in a day sort of book. I found this goodie in Macklemores song!! I got it from the library and that was it. I didn’t get up until it was finished.
Paulo is known for his great writing. But there’s a reason this book is considered a classic.
It’s a fiction book with an amazing message about life and following your dreams.
Which makes it my second favourite option for great gifts for Christmas.
The Husband’s Secret
Liane is an AMAZING writer!! Think crazy ass twists that literally can’t get your eyes off the page.
I had to stop reading her books because I found once I started, I couldn’t stop.
She has some of the best twists I ever read.
So if you have a friend that loves a bit of a thriller/mystery, Liane is the way to go!!
I won’t go into detail about what the books are about here for the plain fact that it will ruin them (just incase you decide to gift them to yourself 😉 ). But if you do – word of warning – you’re going to find it hard to stop!

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life
If you don’t know Mark Manson, he’s a blogger. A funny, honest, self development blogger.
In my opinion he’s one of the best out there.
His main message is that positive AND negative emotions need to be embraced in life.
While this comes across anti self help & anti-spiritual, it’s actually a surprisingly honest, funny & spiritual read. Just without all the repetitive BS in the middle that some spiritual books can have.
So for the self development loving friends out there – this is at the top of the great gifts for Christmas list for them!
Think and Grow Rich
Ahhh Napoleon Hill. If you’re as obsessed with self help as me then you definitely know Napoleon Hill.
Another self development classic that is almost like the secret but without all the corny stories to go with it.
Napoleon spent years studying what made successful people successful.
And it’s not just about thinking – but acting.
Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender
I got on to this book when I realised that my baggage was becoming a little too heavy (hands up if you’re feeling that!).
This is hands down the greatest spiritual book on the gifts for Christmas list.
It’s about emotions and learning to let go and surrender. Considering the difficult topic, it’s an easy read to understand.
Braving the Wilderness: The Quest for True Belonging and the Courage to Stand Alone
I have to admit this is still on my yet to read list. But the reason I’ve put it here is because of what I’ve heard about this book. Oprah has endorsed it. And I have read other books of Brene Brown. Her books have focused a lot on imperfections, guilt & shame. She’s a great writer and given how much this has been spoken about, there’s no doubt this one is just as great. I can’t wait to read it. But it’s a great gift for those you know struggling to find out who they are and what they want from there lives.
You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life
Jen Sincero. Funny AF! Her books are funny and heartfelt. I LOVE them. Her “You Are a Badass at Making Money” is also a great one to read – but a hard gift to give because a book about money can be a bit on the awks side.
Jen has quickly made it up the popular book list. I listened to this book. She narrates it herself. So the audible book could also be a great option for family/friends you know have a long drive to work.
Either way – this book tells her great story of self doubt and how she (and you) can get yourself out of it – at any age.
