3 Of The Best Essential Oils For Anxiety and Panic Attacks

One of the best #natural remedies for #anxiety relief and panic attacks are essential oils! This is a short, simple list of 3 essential oils to help relieve insomnia, stress and anxiety. Especially for the busy #bossmom or #bossbabe who feels like they're mind can't stop! #mentalhealth #mindset #healthy #healthylifestyle #essentialoils #wellness #selfcare

I love reading lists to see what the best essential oils for anxiety and panic attacks are. It’s been a personal choice of mine to stay as natural as possible wherever I can. Learning about all the essential oils for anxiety and sleep has been so fun and interesting. But best of all it’s great to see there are so many alternative ways to treat anxiety and panic attacks.

This is a simple list of 3 essential oils for anxiety and stress. These are herbs which can be used as essential oils in a diffuser, taken as a tea or in tablet form.

One thing I will recommend though is as much as there is great information about essential oils for anxiety relief, my life has really changed when I decided to seek professional help with a naturopath. Herbs can be complicated and contradicting so if you’re ingesting them or using a tincture a great idea is to get help with it via a professional.

If you’re using diffusing it however I wouldn’t stress too much. For me, researching the best essential oils for anxiety and panic attacks by myself has definitely helped. Some people have even said my house feels like they’re at a spa JUST from using essential oils!

Here are 3 of the best essential oils for anxiety and panic attacks.

Passionflower

Passionflower isn’t a herb you hear of as much as something like Lavender. In fact, the only reason I came across Passionflower was through the healer John of God. He gives passionflower as part of his distant healing to heal relieve anxiety.

Passionflower is one of the best essential oils for anxiety and panic attacks because it is a natural sedative. It helps to calm down the central nervous system during overactive states like epilepsy and anxiety.

The reason this tops the list of essential oils for anxiety and stress is that it has a flavonoid called apigenin (also found in chamomile). Apigenin is great when found in essential oils for anxiety relief because it is known to ease blood pressure, quiet palpations and relieve muscle spasms.

Passionflower can be taken as tablets, tea or as a tincture (strong drops usually with a bitter taste).  Last but not least, as with any of the best essential oils for anxiety and panic attacks you can also use it in an oil diffuser.

**Passionflower cannot be used during pregnancy.

Gingseng

Gingseng, specifically Siberian ginseng, is also one of the best essential oils for anxiety and panic attacks.

Like Passionflower, Gingseng helps to calm palpations that are felt with anxiety, insomnia, and good old restlessness.

Not only is Gingseng one of the best essential oils for anxiety relief but it also helps to increase stamina and reduce lethargy. Something we all have when we experience stress or anxiety!

**Something to note about Gingseng though is it’s suggested not to take it for longer than 4 weeks at a time. It’s also not suggested if you’re pregnant. If you decide to take Gingseng it’s best you consult a professional first.

Skullcap

Out of all the best essential oils for anxiety and panic attacks, Skullcap takes the cake for the most interesting name!

Fun fact: Skullcap got its name because the seeds are shaped like a cap.

Like Passionflower, Skullcap is one of the best essential oils for anxiety and stress because of it’s a calming effect on the central nervous system. It’s a sedative mentally and physically.

Skullcap is not just a great essential oil for anxiety relief but also for period pain (WIN!) and ovarian pain.

In addition to all its goodness, it also has anti-inflammatory and anti-allergenic properties.

If you’re using it for insomnia, it also works very well with passionflower.

Unlike the other essential oils for anxiety and stress, Skullcap has no contradictions meaning it can be used if your pregnant, etc. However, as I’m not a professional, it’s best to consult a professional first to be safe.
